LEO DUO just received some photos of the Quinceanera dress we designed! As you may remember, our client, Danielle, is an accomplished athlete as well as a budding fashionista. She knew she didn't want a traditional puffy pink ballgown, but even the dresses she liked the modern look of did not fit the proportions of her long torso well - what might be a darling above-the-knee dress on many teens looked like an empire-waisted micro mini on Danielle. In addition, she would be performing two dance numbers at her party, and it is difficult to waltz (and hip hop) in a short pencil skirt. LEO DUO to the rescue!
Working with ideas Danielle brought to the table, here are photos of the finished product. From the swatches we brought, Danielle selected an oval sequined fabric in a wave pattern. We turned the fabric on the bias, and reversed it for the other side of the bodice, so the lines of the fabric form a pleasing chevron shape. We continued the elegant eggplant hue in the skirt, skimming the hips, then flaring out to a dance ready hemline.
Our favorite feature was the hood, which perfectly suits our playful client. We will bring you those photos soon. Congratulations again Danielle - you were wonderful to work with, and you look absolutely amazing!
